Merkin Concert Hall

Known for its wonderful acoustics, Merkin Concert Hall offers a state-of-the-art recording studio, which is ideal for concert recordings, commercial sessions, film scoring, and even live broadcasts via ISDN or IP.

I designed and built the studio at Merkin Concert Hall, so I know it like the back of my hand. It's designed to be the perfect recording space for orchestral, chamber and other acoustic music.  It's also fantastic for those special string and brass section overdubs for rock and pop records. The stage can accommodate a medium-sized orchestra and the hall has two 9-ft Steinway Model D grand pianos.  A full Aviom cue / headphone system allows musicians to hear themselves with perfect clarity while recording on stage.
